Aerolia designs and produces safe aircraft elements.

Quality first

90 years of experience have given Aerolia a leading edge aeronautical expertise. Its highly qualified personnel and high-performance industrial equipment, together with its status as French and European leader in nose fuselage work packages already position Aerolia as a major global partner in metallic and composite aerostructures.

To reinforce this position, Aerolia is developing a solid, visible industrial strategy with its customers, based on a policy of development of skills and substantial investment. This strategy contributes to service quality (R1 > 99.9%) and to meeting cost and deadline (D1>95%) targets. After Production Organisation Approval (POA), Design Organisation Approval (DOA) will be obtained in 2010, proof that Aerolia designs and produces aircraft items which contribute to passenger safety.

Aerolia's objective is to be recognized as "best in class" supplier by its customers in the domain of nose fuselage sections and complex detail parts.

Lean Manufacturing, a competitive approach

The policy of continuous improvement, supported by the entire staff, enables Aerolia to set ambitious but realistic objectives as regards quality, costs and lead times.

Among the actions implemented, Aerolia is innovating in terms of technology and is developing Lean Manufacturing to optimise processes, reduce costs, improve quality and eliminate waste. Aerolia also has a project to create a plant in Tunisia which will be designed on lean principles and will contribute to the competitiveness of the whole company. This project was launched in January 2009 in the form of the Aerolia Tunisia subsidiary.

An ongoing culture of innovation

At its creation, Aerolia invested €150 million in Méaulte to produce the A350 nose sections, with a composites unit with a surface area of approximately 13,000m2 whose earthworks have just begun. These investments will provide this site with a new area of expertise and anchor it in the industrial and social fabric of the Picardy region.
Likewise, in Saint Nazaire Aerolia will develop its 3D mechanical machining activity, a world technological first that will revolutionize the fuselage panel production and marketplace.

And finally, the Aerolia Design Office groups the skills of 260 engineers and collaborators, coming, from the most part, from the Airbus Design Offices and representing a major asset for Aerolia in their objective to remain at the forefront of global aerostructures.
